Looks like a nice kit. Will you be doing a video build series on a bike kit ? Would be great to see how you actually go about building them, Haven't tackled one myself yet. Look forward to seeing your progress ☺

Soon he'll be down to one wheel rolls. How many unicycle kits does Tamiya make?

Cool build, I approve of the colour, I used to have a Land Rover Defender in the closest RAL colour I could find to Kawasaki Green :th:

My Pitlane Moto gp walk around books arrived as well as the two japenese bike modelling books. The pitlane books are out of print and only available from the far east for £50-70 each, i got all four of these for £155 delivered from the uk (a lucky eBay find) and they are amazing reference books on each bike in the season

Engine detailed up and dullcoted to match the duller appearance of the moto gp bike

Rear swing arm guard was carbon decaled using the excellent scale motorsport carbon film, then glossed along with the bottom brackets, the arm and then decaled and detailed up.

Perfect result! Before varnishing I usually apply a very diluted hand of Tamiya smoke.

Very nice Paul. In relation to the Kawasaki logo on top of the cylinder head, how on earth did you paint that a contrasting colour

More work done to the Zx-rr tonight.

So I did what i could with the kit plastic chain. Sprayed on a few shades of alclad then given a wash it came out ok

Also got the rear swing arm complete and attached on the bike with the rear suspension

Got the carbon brakes sprayed up using a mix of tamiya x10 and XF1 to give the look needed, then make doff and parsed the rest in various alclad and ak extreme metal paints.

The Tamiya fork set was build up and the various parts painting with alclads and then the front wheel assembly attached to the bike. The front mudguard was sprayed sprayed in semi gloss black, carbon decaled and then the kit decals applied and set in place.

I also go the radiator assembly painted and once the exhausts are sorted this can be attached permanently.

I also got the panels painted up with the beautiful Zero paints Mica Green.

Some more progress on the ZX-RR, exhausts on and painted in alclad titanium silver then various tones of alclad hot metals, i used the included pics as reference

i also had to removed the throttle and reposition in the correct position and scratch built the cable tensioners too. And i added wire for the brake lines replacing the way oversized kit hose.

Again with the Scale motorsport carbon decal film, great stuff :)

And all the other bits and bobs on, Moto gp sensors etc.
Just some more wiring and its done and back to the bodywork.

Part 2

The Tamiya Zx-rr is nearing completion, i just need to source a new Bridgestone dry transfer for the front wheel and sort out a couple little things, and once the body panels are cured i can cut and polish them :)
I added some of my own wiring to the bike, adding a bit more detail, its been a very nice kit to work on

Paul what's the best way to put the dry tyre
manufacturers decals on the tyres. I haven't attempted this yet and I'm just wondered what's the best way to do this.
Cheers
David

Paul with regards the Zero Paints, what airbrush do you use or what would you recommend. I'm looking into changing my cheapo airbrush I use for this.
I have a Iwata Rev CR I use for everything else.
