Reading through some of the welcome posts and it sounds like a Alcoholics Anonymous meeting!
Hello, my name's Phil and I'm a scale modeller... I guess it started like most people when I was a kid with an Airfix kit at Christmas and birthdays but soon I was enjoying a kit in school holidays and then most weekends were a blur of polysterene cement and enamel paints. Before I knew it, I was... addicted... In my teens I moved on to the harder stuff, Games Workshop, and all my time and money was devoted to it... Then my father told me I was too old to play with toys so I smashed all my model aeroplanes up and boxed up all my Warhammer and started drinking instead!
Then, a little over a year ago, after 20 years clean I suffered a severe back injury which meant I couldn't go running or kayaking anymore and was starting to get bored and restless when my son saw an Airfix display in a shop and asked if he could have one. We bought the Airfix Battle of Britain set. He deccided within half an hour that he wasn't enjoying it but I was hooked again!
Since then I have started my own website, Scale World. It began when I made a colour chart because I couldn't find any paint comparison charts for my 20+ year old Citadel Colours paints that I dug out of their box in the shed (they're all still as good as when I first bought them). Then I was asked about paint conversions by a colour blind modeller and so I made a special list of Humbrol paints organized by shade so he could see which was the darkest green or which one was a little lighter than number 30, for example. He was so impressed he told me I should make a website so that everyone could use the chart and so it began!
Anyway, my intro is already longer than all of the others put together but I want to say a quick thanks to Lee for mentioning my site in a post about colour charts - that's how I found my way here, on the web statistics "incoming links" - it'll be nice to in at the beginning of a great forum!
Hello and thanks!

OK Phil - You get a welcome even if you don't want one. I think your trying to be the first person in ISM to welcome every single person who joins us.
