Anyone used this? Is it too good to be true?

No one?

Oh well for that price I've given it a go, a quid dearer but it's in a nice shade of green instead. It will take a couple of weeks to get here from Hong Kong if anyone wants to know what it's like.

Ok I will chime in
It will be a piece of shite likely. Had one from a local hardware store of Chinese manufacture and it was useless.
In modelling you don't want a lot of power and I find both my NiCad large Dremel and Proxon have too high a RPM for my liking.
My go to is a little battery operated Dremel that was for pumpkin carving...four AA batteries, two speeds and perfect for micro drills

I did a couple of hours digging around the web yesterday and found that some people in the US use a 'bead reamer'. The one linked below is just an example and was the first one that came up on eBay, but some of these can take most types of bit and go down to 1,000 rpm. The only ones I found are in America and use their electrical ratings. I have absolutely no idea if they are any good but they do look interesting.

More than likely going by the price it will be a cheap Chinese type tool. For me I found with the cheap tools the bit tends to run out a lot. What I mean is when working, the bit tends to wobble around.

I haven't found the proxon to be too fast such that it was melting plastic or uncontrollable.

They...they make one just for pumpkins?

It's funny, I was just considering thinking about possibly wanting to maybe get a dremel tool someday because reasons. Hadn't even begun to investigate them yet, just always assumed there was, you know, a dremel. Not a pumpkin dremel, a melon dremel, a turkey dremel, etc.

It is a sneaky trick when shopping with one's wife to buy a "Pumpkin Carving Kit" for the kids and then hoist the Dremel for your workshop. Method to my madness :shhh:

Well I've been using this (practising, not on my models yet) for a couple of weeks now and for the stuff I'd use it for I can't fault it.

It's good for doing battle damage, drilling, thinning, cutting, sanding, polishing etc anything thing you can think of on styrene. It would be rubbish for general work that would require a Dremel etc

It quotes slowest speed as 3k but it's a lot slower than that. It's very low torque but I don't need it high for modelling.

It's also small and light and feels good in the hand.

Oh yeah, and Coen uses something very similar.

Tis said that one day he shall return to fulfill The Prophecy Of The Tiger :

I never had the pleasure of "chatting" with him, but have watched many of his vids and the praise is well deserved.
