Scratch building help

Post by guffman990 »

Hi everybody
I'm a bit stuck on my dragon kit, I was glueing in the hatches on the upper hull, a few second after glueing in the second hatch I decided to keep it open. So I pulled it off. Unfortunately it's made a mess of the hull and of the hatch :
I need some advice as if there is anything I can scratch build or buy to cover it. I.e. A tarp or flag..

if it is still going to be Open ? A figure might obscure some of the area "enough" to distract the viewer!

There are some interesting ones here for ideas only !!!

Open the hatch and weather the edges like crazy so it looks like wear and tear usage or maybe even some Battle damage

i glue all the time like that! :)
No serious, remove the hatch use some sharp knife and remove the glue.
After that use tamiya putty or Mr surfacer 500 filler or 1000
Some heavy weathering will also be a nice trick.

Good luck with that!

With cases like this I just cuss a lot and sand it with a small piece of really, really, really fine sand paper. After you paint over it no one can tell there's a smudge there.
Unless you're entering into a competition, I guess.
