Nocturna Models "Lilith" bust 1/16

Post by MarkVerploeg »

Hi guys
So i decided to do a little review for this bust
I usually don't do reviews as there are plenty of people who are much better at it
But because it is a subject i really like and i doubt that we have that many figure painters around i thouggt why not

So what do we have here
Image
The bust comes in a small tin
Nocturna started using a new design where all the tins look the same but the "box art" is on the bottom
In terms of packaging there are some parts in a small resealable bag but the body and wings are not packaged
The parts are sandwiched in between to sheets of foam/sponge so they are nice and protected

Image
There are only 5 parts in the kit so not a whole lot to show ss

How ever the detail looks very nice
And i do like the face of this bust

The wings are pretty big but also quite thick
I feel that they could have been made a bit bigger and thinner
The Lilith figure wings are not that much smaller and that is a 70mm figure or about 1/28 scale
But the detail on them is very nice and should be fun to make small and subtile details on all the raised areas

Image
Amd finally the hands
They look okay
Not too much detail here but i think they shouldn't become a distraction from the details on the dress and wings

I wanted to show a picture of the bust when it is assembled but i think the wings have a quite small locating pin and they are fairly heavy so i didn't try to put it together yet as it would require glueing them on
And i didn't clean up the parts yet

As far as some stats go
Scale :1/16
Size : estimated at 10cm/4 inches tall and about 15cm/6 inches wide but i would need to messure it to be sure
Parts :5
RRP:around the 50 euro mark both at normal shops and Nocturna's own webshop
For those of you that may be intrested in getting one
I think that is usually a thing that is skipped in most reviews
Casted in resin and a good quality casting too
I looked for any sinkmarks or airbubbles but couldn't find any
There are multiple cast blocks on all the parts but those are all small and on easy to reach places so removing them and sanding should be a problem

So that is all i know about this bust
I am looking forward to painting it but then again the Lilith figure is already my favorite figure so when this was released last month i just knew i wanted to have one
I hope you like this little review and maybe i will see some of these bust appear here on the forums
Take care and happy modelling
Cheers
Mark

That could take some time
I have 5 builds that are nearly finished at the moment and 1 of those is for a GB here so that needs to be finished this week
But i assembled it last night while i was waiting for the washes to dry on those builds and so far i was right about the wings
They are heavy and need to be glued in place to even show how it would look
So those will have to be painted seperate from the body as they block my access to some parts of the body
But once my King Tiger and Tiger builds are finished this one will be on the bench
