Well a week on

It's been a week since myself and lee got the forum up and running and wow what a week it's been.
We have over 80 members, 3 forum sponsors

(more on that later) and a lot of activity on the forum.
Absolutely brilliant, I think I can speak for both myself and lee when I say we are both shocked and delighted as to how well ISM is doing, and its thanks to you guys.
So get your names down for the prize draw, keep posting links to your videos, and lets see some work in progress photo builds

and keep up the good work.
Paul and Lee

Its not the first modelling forum I have been on but it is by a long way the most welcoming and friendly.
Great work guys, long may it continue.

Hello Lee and Paul.
I think I'm going to be honest on this post.
I honestly deep down think that this forum will grow into something amazing and I'm so pleased to be here. What I'm really after is a place (forum) where I can go and not be bombarded with rivet counters and panel beaters saying that I've done this wrong or that wrong or explain that my nose cone is 0000.4 mm too long or short or make stupid comments that are really uncalled for. I don't see this here at all which is fantasic.
I've been speaking to a fellow modeller who works in the same office as me and explained that forums like britmodeller are heavley populated with or run by modellers that maybe take it a bit too far with other modellers who are in a novice or intermediate stage of their hobby. I do feel it's a shame that this hobby like many others have to go down that line and forget what we are really here for and that is to have fun and learn at the same time. It's this forum where I see a lot of names and faces from youtube and are here for the two things I've mentioned. Learning and having fun.
I can only see this forum growing and growing the same as the youtube community and yes we do encounter from time to time the rivet counter or panel beater

there also but here is a nice place to be and again I am very very happy to be here.
So thank you Lee and Paul for the time and effort you are putting into this forum and if I may be of any help in the future then I will only be too happy to help in anyway I can.
God I can waffle!!!

Great waffle Lenny

brilliant post mate
Myself and lee see a bright future too, but it's going to take a lot of work by myself/lee and you guys, the forum is nothing without you lot and its your input that will make this place huge, please keep posting your videos, chat, comment on things your interested in, or just talk rubbish like I do
One thing the forum could do with more of is "in build progress" threads in the gallery, so you start with a pic of your model box and contents and work through showing your build in stages until its finished. Not only is it a good reference for anyone considering a future build and adds to the forum, and it'll also get you used to it when it comes to the group builds (in which the idea is to show progress from start to end).
Keep up the good work anyway, ive waffled enough now too

I am very much familiar with such WIP logs that Paul refers too from the very much warhammer centric forum I am also on. We refer to them as "Project Logs" and its a thread you can use to document your project. Now on here with so many youtubers updates in that thread could consist of a video update (which is also on YT), but supplemented with some extra pics/other references that might be harder to stick into a video.

I couldn't agree more! I came over from another forum that was run like a school for naughty kids in which you get a stern talking to if you even come close to nudging the strict forum rules as if you're 10 years old in front of the headmaster! Even quoting a large post like I have here would get you into trouble! I'm in this hobby for FUN and ENJOYMENT, not for strict rules, rivet counting and being spoken to like a child!
