#37 Smokeriderdons 1/72 Vulcan Final Reveal

Post by smokeriderdon »

OK, so she is all done! First, thank you to Twokids for having invited me here for this. This is a great site and pretty cool folks. :)

Second, thank you to all who watched! Thank you for your encouraging words. I really hope you all find her as nice as I do.

This was one of those old kits that actually did NOT fight me hard. The fit issues were not so horrible as to be throw the thing across the room frustrating. I do remember from the first time I built this back in the 80s that the intakes bothered the snot out of me. they looked horrible. Thank God for after market! Those one piece resin intakes were great!

So here she is :

I've seen a real one at the Hendon RAF Museum - what a beast, you have done her and her history proud : :
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Thank you sir! I have never seen one IRL. I sooooo want to. And I am pretty sure none of them fly anymore. Only run up and taxi. *sigh*

Yeah sadly the last flying example is now parked up at Doncaster airport, there are plans for it to do fast taxi runs but not sure how they're getting on with that. There's one at Wellesbourne (Warwickshire) that does fast runs, and one parked up at Solway museum near Carlisle where you can access the flight deck.
Cheers, Neil

Thank you all! I am glad you all like her. I just really do wish they would give the gal the treatment she deserves with a new tool with better detail. And perhaps in 1/48. ;)

Thank you sir! I am most certainly happy with it. If I get ahold of another one, I will be sure to get the other resin kits and have decent wheel wells as well.
