Like all of the Sphere range, the vice is not cheap (but there again if a vice was cheap would it be fun?) - it came in at £15 . But, again like the rest of the range, it is very well designed and engineered. It comes as a kit of parts and is made of laser-cut MDF and is supplied with a bag of nuts, bolts washers, springs and an allen key.

It makes up to a sturdy yet compact tool which feels good in the hand and stands safely on the bench. While my initial tests of the vice part, which appear to give sufficient grip to mounting pins, give me confidence I will reserve overall judgment until it has had a figure or two under its belt.

I will be road testing this vice when I start on my figure GB model - soon, I hope. I hope you have found this review interesting.
Oh, one last thing, as this is laser cut MDF, one down side is that after handling for a while, the hands take on the slight whiff of having been up close and personal with a kipper (but I am sure that this will wear off in a short time)!
