Howdy all!

No Eggplane group build this year; but, I'm building some anyways. Please feel free to join in on the fun!

This is a Meng Tiger I from their World War Toons line. Looks to be a fun kit. This will just be the first of hopefully many eggcelent builds this April.

Looks like a blast to build.
What scale is the Tiger? Or does it not really have a scale?

Doesn't really have a scale. It will end up being about half the size of a 1/35 armor kit.

Thanks ya'll. I want to finish 3 kits in April. My wife has claimed one of the Vic airplanes and we'll build them together. I sort of want to do the Corsair as the canopy masking looks easier than the Tomcat. But..... I will end up doing the masking for both airplanes.

Good news! The wife wants to build a kit. So tomorrow we will start on the Vic aircraft. She's doing the Corsair and I'm doing the Tomcat. Should be fun.

The Tiger got assembled and painted dunkelgelb today. Primed in Ultimate Matte Black, MMP Dunkelgelb and Track Rust for the paints used so far.

I haven't decided if I'm going to do Easter theme, or go with a more traditional type of camo.

Luke Carswell posted on the facebook group about doing an egg plane group build if you can find it.

Put some barrel bands on the Tiger. Only used masking tape and a Sharpie. Looks pretty good. Next will be clear coat, then decals!

almost forgot the image.

Enjoying your build and the modeling subjects. Your modeling on this fun scale project looks very good.

I felt compelled to join in with you in your build with Easter coming and all. Actually, I am sharing a similar build done with my special needs son recently. Considering he has no fine motor skills, little verbal ability, is totally braced and strapped in his wheelchair; I helped him using the hand over hand method so he can enjoy the hobby too. Our build strictly out of the box and for his fun.

He has three more egg tanks and I will have to help him work another this week to contribute to your build string. Keep up the great work!

Well, I would have had some pictures of the decals on but....

Last night approximately 2145 local time, my wife gives me the go ahead to model. Priorities are as follows:
  1. Gloss coat the egg Tiger for decals.
  2. Make first attempt at creating Friuhl tracks.
So there I was, at the spray booth in the garage (garage is attached to kitchen through a door.) I'm happily getting the spray booth going, setting correct PSI and getting some Alclad II Aqua Gloss set up. Started to spray the hull of the Tiger and hear. "AHHHHHH, AHHHHH, WHAT THE fudge!" Accompanied by the crashing and breaking of multiple plates, pots, pans, etc.

"Well this is odd" I thought to myself. So I sat the airbrush in its holder and went to the kitchen. The wife yells, "Don't come in here, there's broken plates" to which I reply "I'm wearing combat boots, it'll be fine." (I always wear boots/shoes in the garage.) Wife was clearly freaking out.

I'm greeted by a path of destruction only Godzilla could rival, of broken plates and silver wear thrown everywhere.

The wife was trying to calm herself down from a near panic attack and holding the dog. The poor dog (a Golden Retriever named Goose) was looking very sorry/ashamed/scared.

Evidently, when the wife was putting plates in the dish washer, the dog came up to lick some of the steak juices off of the plates. Her collar somehow got stuck on the bottom rack. So when the wife shooed the dog away, it ran off with the entire rack in tow.

According to wife, "There were plates breaking everywhere, and knives flying through the air at me and the dog!"

After a quick survey, I noticed no blood. (Besides, I have a lot of medical supplies, quikclot, tourniquets, first aid, etc. in the house in case of egregious emergency.)

This was one of those marriage defining moments. Laugh out loud; or, somehow hold it in. The first option you will hear about for the rest of your life.

Fortunately I was able to hold it in long enough to inspect the dog for cuts. She's a Golden Retriever so, checking her all out was a bit of a task. She checked okay, and I got to have a good chuckle.

Then I was made to buy new plates.

After a severe loss of mojo, I pushed through and finished up the Egg tank!

It was a fun little build.

Cheers!
