Hello from New Orleans
Hello I am recently retired I have bought some kits. Despite the 52 year break I am excited to be doing this again.
As this time round there is enough money for paints.
I have started my first kit an Airfix 1/72 Mitsubishi Zero things are not going very well but that is okay.
I will post pictures when it is finished even if I take a hammer to the canopy out of frustration.
I intend to be a "what if " apprentice modeler so no rules for me when it comes to painting or decals.
I know that I really suck at modeling right now but as long as each one turns out better than the last that will be fine.
As long as I enjoy it and have fun then that is all that really matters.
Nice to meet you all especially Paul, whoever said you cannot teach patience was wrong.

Hey now! Welcome to the group! I lived in NOLA from late 2007 to 2011 while working for FEMA. Great city, and I still have many friends there. Came back to the hobby myself a couple years ago, after a four decade break, which seems par for the course for many of us. Model your way!

Hello and welcome into the foray Dipietro.....
I am with you 100% in that modeling is about self enjoyment. This forum is comprised my many people of many different skill levels. One of the many nice things here is that you will have talented and knowledgeable members providing positive and encouraging feedback regardless of anybody's specific skill level.
Hope you enjoy your time here....
