Oh very cool - I didn't realise they had the clear shell.
Could you build it up so one half is clear and the other covered?

Finally did some more work on the Camel.
Engine is painted up.
"Wood" parts are primed.

Basic assembly is done. There are some fit issues. Partly due to extra tight tolerances made worse with paint.
I accidentally broke one of the struts trying to remove it. The part broke off and the for extra measure, the tip of my hobby blade is in there too. So I had to cut off part of the correct strut and glue everything. The downside to painting everything up was removing them from the sprues prior to painting. If I had a do-over I would have painted whilst still attached.

Looks good despite the issues!

Looking good!
My kit also has fit issues. I wonder if it is only with these toon builds, or if it propagates to other kits/series as well.

Overall, I would say the fit is good. The only real issue I had with the fit was that one of the smaller pins didn't fit well into its hole. Instead of breaking the pin, it broke the hole so I had to cut it out. Without that top attachment part, a section of the cowling doesn't snug up. I would put that more on me than the kit. I should have known to drill out the hole to start with. These kits are just not meant to be painted. I didn't experience any of the misaligned parts like you did. My other problems were completely self-inflicted.

I built the Armored Peanut in Suyata's Armored Nuts series, and I found the parts fit to be excellent, and had no trouble at all with the assembly. These kits are molded in appropriate colors, and as Mathew said, they're not really meant to be painted. I didn't paint my Armored Peanut, but I did use washes to bring out the details, and am pleased with the results.

I have the decals done and with that part one is finished. I may spray a satin clear just to keep everything tidy, but this little bird will say clean.

That's come together really nicely - how much of the interior detail can you see once it's all buttoned up?

Wow, it has been a while...
I finally have some progress on the other parts for the build. Figures!
I originally wanted a snoopy flying the plane, but I will settle for an outside Snoopy pretending to fly the plane. The kit also came with a figure holding a cat for some odd reason (which goes in a pocket on his chest).
I used my new Redgrass Wet Palette for brush painting the figures with Vallejo Model Color. I am impressed with how well it works. It also makes mixing colors easy. The pants are just the coat and skin colors combined with a touch of green! I put a gloss coat on before the enamel wash in case I wanted to use oils for more in-depth shading. I don't think that I will. Luckily, the kit came with decals for the eyes.

We palettes can be a real game changer. I love mine.

I think I am going to call this one done. I will still finish painting Snoopy, but I don't think he will be part of the final scene.

Please excuse the poor lighting.

Very well done indeed
His eyes are perfect. Is that paint or a decal? Either way they look great
The cat part is baffling
