So a second build I am going to do is for the figure genre of our Sci Fi sig
Gambody files 3D printed Mandalorian figure from Disney’s great series
So there are like sixty zipped files to be downloaded for this $16USD set of SLA files.
Lots of variations of surface texture and a couple bases to choose, two different heads….
So far I have the legs printed out in Anycubic Craftsman grey; a seven hour print done over last night

Thanks!
Not bad for just chucking in some grey and hoping the settings were ok
The chest piece failed on me, but I got Grogu done.
His cape split up a bit but then he is stuffed in a bag so not a worry

Some progress overnight
The chest portion printed out. Nice clean print with good details and no abnormalities
Arms and some armour details are printing out as I write this….I have a sinus lift course to go to all Saturday. Yay
The Gambody files have been 2 for 2. The Jack Sparrow figure was from them as well. $16 is well worth a well designed set of files

A sinus lift? I'm not sure that sounds fun. The figure looks great though.

It looks stunning. This is what I meant about real figure kits v Bandai. This just looks right without all the articulation.
I cant afford, and I dont have the space for, a printer but I would love a kit like this if it was available.
Gutted - but excited for you and the build.

A sinus lift course. I've never heard of such a thing, but it sounds like a mucky situation.
The mandalorian figure looks very nice. Maybe this is the way of small items in the future as most small hobby shops can't stock all the little bibs and bobs.
The waist seam line looks pretty big atm will it squeeze up more or will a lot of putty be needed ?

No he is just plopped together , the seam disappears when oriented fully
I could print out the larger size FDM files …made a rather large foot and lower leg by mistake

The detail on the large scale shoulder caps is darn good

Is the surface bumpy ? if so is that a printer related issue and just has to be sanded smooth to tidy up ?
Sorry for being so curious, the tech interests me and the results that are possible.

If you look at the original picture the waist join is mostly covered by equipment / ammo pouches. It still might need some work but I'm sure Scott's got some dental supplies to cover the job!

I don't think that is in any doubt he will handle it. It's just I was listening to a podcast and they were saying that despite what you might think when larger items are sliced up into several objects by the software, mainly because of machine limitations. When you go to join them together into a single whole object they won't go back together seamlessly.
So I was curious what the margins of error or maybe that's not the right term, manufacturing error might describe it better. The limitations of the whole process.

Getting close to finishing the 3D printing
I managed to knock the storage box off the desk and break some fingers and lose a part. There was much swearing MUCH swearing.
These are all just a Dry fit, still pretty good to hold together just popping parts in their holes.
Now have a three days work week and then a four day mini holiday so will decide on his painting scheme

That's come together really nicely despite your best efforts to damage it
The folds in the cloth sections look great - always something to look for in figure models.

This is just to cool ! The result is magnificent. I think it's your best 3D result up too now.
Great job
And to make a connection to your comment on my Pfalz build, yes the puppy is quite fine. She's got quite a personality and is quite clever. And how is yours ?
Take care !

Awsome print! That´s a nice result. Looks like you have dialed the settings just about correct for this one.
Im printing with a FDM printer and I so want a resin printer too.
Looking forward to see how you paint this bounty hunter!

The resin printers are pretty cool, just a bit smelly and messy
Mine is a small build plate so this figure is tiny compared to the FDM version

I´ve been printing a few small figures, and the detail is nothing compared to the resin. Im using a Creality Ender 3 S1.

Initial layers of colour onto the rifle
The wood parts are oil burnt umber. I will likely add a gloss to get some shine
Some metaliser powder and some weathering still to go

As a heads-up Amazons Prime day is 12-13 July this year. Might be worth looking closer to this to see what, if anything, is on offer.

Thank you for the comments, yes these Gambody print files are top notch...Jack Sparrow figure was another from them
Ours puppy Piper is doing quite well. She is relatively trustworthy off leash, not great with roads and cars and only really responds and walks when my wife is around. She has imprinted on her as her person and must have my wife nearish to be comfortable.
Piper also likes to dig and hide in the garden
Here she has come out on the deck in order to eye up my breakfast! Has turned out to be very food motivated

She is a good dog, just not mine per say but that is ok too.
But she likes to play run and chase with me. I act like a zombie or Frankenstein's monster and she hops and growls and barks and has crazy fun until I whistle and give her a treat. I am sure we look like lunatics.

She looks nice.

Also clever and naughty

I totally understand how you feel... it took me quite a while to let's say, appropriate Maïka as mine. Now, since recently, I can say she has a rightful place in my heart without having taking Cléo's place. She's quite playful.
She Loves everyone in the family with an infinite amount of love I've never saw from a dog before, especially my son and my girlfriend's youngest. She follows me around everywhere, as I work from home. Always ready to play. She acts like a real baby with her toys everywhere and here baby blanket that follows her everywhere. But she's quite lazy when it's time to take a walk except when we go to the forest near our home. And I think it's only a moment away before she jumps with us in our pool... not that I want too.
