Hello from MasterToyMaker!

Post by MasterToyMaker »

Finally Here

Born in the U.S.A. (through no fault of my own), artist, sculptor, and model maker for a Major toy company in southern California for over 35 years.
I feel very fortunate that my job never killed my love for the hobby. I do however credit ISM for revitalizing the passion, and inspiring me to build even more variety and quantity in my personal time. So now after a long day of building models at work, I like to relax at home building models.
Been lurking in the shadows since Ivan was serenading us with 'Fingernails for Cash', and Andreas was grooming slopes on air. I blame you Paul, for the stack of unread books by the nightstand (Dan's going to think that sounds wrong).
Thanks again to Paul, Lee, and all the characters over the years for bringing the good times :thumb1:

Thanks for the kind words!
Hey.. do you know how to post for the upcoming finished build segment.. can't find it anywhere. Or will they make a call for submissions in an upcoming post? I must be a bit of a Luddite, the forum structure seems utterly opaque to me, and my cat is no help whatsoever.
Cheers

No problem
Starting from the top......board index which shows all the sections
Go down to FORUM BUILDS and SIG's......This where a group build will be posted.
For example ..LARGE SCALE BUILDS.....This is currently active.
You would go into build threads and start a NEW TOPIC of what ever your building.
When your finished your build you then create a new post in FINIAL REVEALS and then post about 6-10 pics like a walk around of the kit at different viewing angles.
I hope this helps. Since this forum is a bit old school you have to use another site to host your pic's and then post a link in the post your creating. A lot here use ......imgur.com. It's not that bad once you get the hang of it.
:cheers2:

Ps...Tomcat will likely post a set of instructions on how to go about this better than I. Or check out another intro from someone else and read Tc's comments there. :th:

Hello and :welcome: to the ISM forum.

When you get a moment please check out the forum guidelines which can be found ---> here

We'd love to see your work & progress but in order to post photos you will need to host them on an external site such as Flickr and then link to them from the forum. Unfortunately the forum currently doesn't have sufficient capacity or bandwidth to host directly uploaded photos.

There is a quick guide on how to use the Flickr integration on the forum ---> here and a couple of step by step guides in here

As well as the forum boards there is a really useful Modeller Toolkit available which can help with paint matching, paint thinning, glue types & a scale calculator that can be found ---> here

We also run a number of group builds & special interest groups through the year so feel free to enter any of those that you like the look of - once they're set up they can be found ---> here

Otherwise take a look around and join in, and if you have any questions feel free to ask

I'm guessing that you mean the submissions for Roland's section of the Live Show?

Roland (userid LongTom) will post up a new thread in the Modelling Chat section for each show - the thread for this coming Friday is here

Just post a reply to that thread with your picture and description - Dan does the same for the "Work in Progress" section too (userid KingDan) so make sure you catch the right one as it's easy to get them mixed up.

Hope that helps but let me know if I didn't answer your question :)

Have Fun :cheers2:
Cheers, Neil

Welcome MasterToyMaker, some lovely models on show there. If you are looking for the live show finished build section (Roland's section) it is under the General Section, Modelling Chat. Roland ('longtom' on this forum) puts a post up every other week for submissions.

Just seen Neil's post above which explains it better than I ever could!

Nope - I just have a handy set of links tucked away for when we need them :)

Glad we could point you in the right direction though - looking forward to seeing some more of your work :th:
