Yes. I have one but really don't like it at all. If you have a very thick paint you really need to stir it up first. It is good as long as the paint has not sat for a long time.
It does the job but only to mix paint that has not separated too much.
It also make a heck of a noise and the rubber strap does break so you need to make sure you have spare straps - real overkill in my mind that does not do a good job. Better to use an electric stirrer than use this in my opinion.
Cheers
Jim
p.s. I got one with an external power supply

Why could you not have told me 6 months ago before I bought this darn thing

But yeah! It really is a toy rattle.
I have one for sale if you want to buy mate.
I think by now Paul is never going to buy one which is not a bad thing to be honest.
Cheers

That's superb! I want one!
On a similar not: I was thinking about adding a couple of drops of water to the dried up dregs of paint in the bottom of a pot and putting it in the microwave on low for a few seconds, hoping that the water molecules would agitate and break up the dried paints. Anyone ever tried this?

Yeah, I guess you're right. Once bitten, twice shy: I can still remember cleaning out a microwave 20 years ago not long after I got my first pet snake and tried to defrost a pinky in there... Who knew such a small thing would make such a big mess, or such a big POP!

Talking of snakes, do you remember that I breed them?

How can I forget - you have one of the most beautiful piebald royals I've ever seen! I had 2 male and 3 female royals but all standard colours and genes so only ever standard babies.

I looked at one of the paint shakers but they were expensive to get down under and then I have to get a new ac adapter to get it to 240v etc etc.
I dont like the 'milk frother' style mixers as i find them messy and wasteful.
So instead I went to the 2nd hand store and brought an onl electric knife (you might use for bread or carving roast meat) and i took an angle grinder to the serated edge and then taped an old rattle can cap to one side for shaking up cans and lust some velcro straps on the other side for paint bottles/jars
Its quick, easy, cheap and most importantly effective on all types of paints.

I like the fact that it states that along with batteries it also requires 'paint'

Not mine but gives you the idea

The upturned lid of a tamiya rattle can seems to hold most paints (Vallejo, Tamiya 10ml, Tamiya rattle cans, Humbrol Enamels, Testors) and worst case u just hold a couple of fingers on the vessel to stop it jumping out

I have one, the AC one and like it very much. Many years ago, one of the old timmers had one and I always wanted one. So when I got back into it, it was one of the first things I bought.
I also bought a badger batt powered little mixer, like you would use for mixing a drink. It works great.
Many of my paints were 20 years old and I did not want to replace them all, hence all the mixers and shakers.
But for the mixer, I have had mine 6 months and on the same rubber band, but did buy extras but think a real rubber band would work too.
It is load and will move across the table, I have double back tape holding it in place.
Overall I think it does a good job mixing paint that has not sat 20 years. It is very similar to what they have for the big gallons of paint at the paint store, and they seem to think they work well for hOuse paint.
It may be really best for paint that has sat for a month or more. If you use a pot every week, then a good shake may be all you need.
