KBF´s F-35A RNoAF "Beast bomber"

Post by KBF »

Alrigty then! This will be the first plane build for me for about 25 years. I choose to build the new and awesome F-35A multirolle aircraft.

Lets get to it!

Arrived with mail from Japan the other day and the box is huge and there is a sick amount of very, and I mean VERY, detailed parts in the box.
I will post pics of the sprues and some of the details when I start building the kit

The kit will be OOB with some weathering and the Norwegian Airforce version in beast mode with all the payload on

Here´s the box..

Start up will be in march after a delivery of some Tamiya LP paints that I want to use

Some pic before liftoff. A great amount of sprues and alot of parts. And not to mention the paperwork that follows.

And the details on the parts are insane. Take alook at the weapons bay part

And here is the decal/paint guide for the RNoAF version, in a A3 ish format

So almost on to the fun part. Paints are in the mail and after looking at the drawings I have figured out how to build this thing. And that is from the inside out(as usual with planes) But Im thinking and it seems that if I make all internal parts first and then it should be possible for me to get the finish that I want to. So in the near future, some more updates will arrive and I will do this alongside the Mclaren F1 car.

Status update:

Paints did arrive and the build is on the way. I decided to do these parts first:

- Front landing gear bay
- Rear landing gear bay
- Weapons bay

As you can see in the pics below, I got to prime them in a semi gloss black and the next coat will be flat white. This should give shading and a nice look to the parts. Im very impressed with the details and how perfect everything fits in this kit.

Next up as mentioned, white paint and all the hand painted stuff that is needed..

I really enjoyed building this kit, will follow along. I didn't enjoy masking for the ram tape though.

Progress update..

Front landing gear bay is assembled and just missing some decals and alittle bit of weathering

As mentioned before. I primed the parts with semi gloss black and then Tamiya LP4 Flat White. I think it gave alot of shading and a nice look, not to shiny and new.

I have also started the paint job of the weaponsbay and rear landing gear too. It takes alittle bit time with all those pipes and stuff.
Update will come soon..
