Aur0ra145's Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang - Final Reveal

Post by aur0ra145 »

Good afternoon gents!

Finished up this kit only 353 days late for the GB. But, better late than never right?

Overall good kit, great fit, great instructions, great community following along as I built this plane up.

No photo booth at this time due to size limitations.

Very nice build. The metal part look great, but the blue makes it look amazing!

I didn't like the first set of photos, so I made a makeshift photo booth. My biggest limiting factor right now is light setup. Though, without spending a good amount of cash, I have no idea how to fix that.

Let me know if certain shots look better than others, I was really messing with the lighting to see what I could come up with.

How the setup looked, I used temporary shoe covers for the light diffusion. Like the little booties doctors wear.

Now she's safe at her home in the display case

Awesome finish - the metal surfaces look great

The second set of shots definitely show her off better :th:

I've got a pair of rechargeable LED lamps that I use primarily for my WIP shots - the're foldable and only about 10inches tall so perfect for kit work. Might be worth having a look on Amazon.

I'll try and get a shot of mine if I can get into the den around all the Christmas junk that's taken over :)
Cheers, Neil

Here's a pic of the two lamps as mentioned - they're by Naturalight (or at least that's the logo on them)
