We have thought long and hard about this section and we would like to add it as it can only benefit you, the members. But, because there are many unscrupulous people out there we are going to implement a few strict rules (and guidelines), these are non negotiable and non adherence will result in your thread being deleted with out question, repeat instances will result in an instant and lifetime ban, as will any form of banditry, theft or swindling. If you are guilty of any of the latter, after thorough investigation, we WILL name and shame you online and on youtube....
Rules are as follows....
1. To start a For Sale thread you must have a minimum post count of 100. This applies to ALL threads and sections in the Buy, Sell & Exchange forum.
2. No direct (or indirect) links to postings you have on eBay or any other auction site. You're either selling them here or not.
3. Only one or a very small group of items for sale per thread. No wholesale, job lot or stash clearance threads (this only applies to model kits).
4. You MUST specify a price. No offers invited or similar will be allowed. OVNO, ONO is fine.
5. Specify the country you are selling in and the currency the sale is in.
6. If you are going to add PayPal fees, this must be stated in the advertisement.
7. You will not specify that the buyer uses the gift option on PayPal, this will leave the buyer with no protection.
8. You MUST post a picture of the item (actual item, not a generic picture from the net) you are selling and state what condition the item is in (excellent, average, poor, boxed, unboxed, sealed etc).
9. Be honest with your description.
10. Thread bumping is NOT allowed (maybe once a week
).11. Models and modelling related items ONLY are allowed in any of the Buy, Sell & Exchange sections.
12. If offering something for free to a good home, you can only ask that the interested party covers the P&P (shipping) ONLY and this must be a reasonable figure.
13. If offering something for exchange, you can only ask that the interested party covers the P&P (shipping) ONLY and this must be a reasonable figure.
14. All negotiations to be held in private (not on the thread) via PM or email.
15. Once the item is sold (or exchanged or found), please make sure to add SOLD in the title and the thread so it can be deleted.
Each For Sale thread MUST include the following..... Full name and scale of the kit or item, condition of item, country or countries you are willing and able to sell/send the item to, price and cost of shipping, the thread title must in the same format as a GB build thread - ie. HobbyBoss 1/35 Merkava III (LIC)
Failure to comply with any of the above will result in immediate deletion of thread with NO exceptions. A repeat infringement will result in a lifetime ban, NO exceptions.
Tips for Sellers.....
1. Check your advert thoroughly before posting. Make sure you have the description and prices correct and you've included a picture.
2. Be honest, for the sake of a few £s, $s or €s is it really worth having your reputation tarnished?
3. Answer buyers questions as quickly and concisely as possible.
4. Describe the item for sale to the best of your abilities, the more information you provide the easier the sale will be.
Tips for Buyers...
1. NEVER buy an item using the gift option on PayPal, if you do you lose all your buyers rights and the protection that that offers. If some one asks you to use the gift option kindly decline and explain why.
2. Be patient. Some members only get on once a day, give them at least 48 ours to get back to you with an answer to your query.
3. Make sure you ask about any thing that may cause you to consider not purchasing the item BEFORE you pay any monies over.
4. If an item looks to be 'too good to be true' it probably is! Make sure you use due diligence before you hand over you money.
5. Get a feel for the seller by viewing his profile, post count and more importantly the calibre of their posts on ISM.
6. Sort the deal out via personal emails and even ask for phone numbers. This gives you your own paper trail if anything should go wrong.
