Hello here a small how to foil.
I will try to explain as good as i can.
First off all what do we need.
Cotton swabs,a sharp knife, gleu for the foil, foil off course and siccisors.
(the best is that u model isnt painted)
Image

he glass plate is for the foil so u can rub it down without wrinkels.
Image

If u put gleu on your model part be shure there is no dust on it(dust is your worst enemey)
U will see that the gleu s a milky aperenc.
Image

Image

U have to wait untill the gleu is dryd before u put the foil on.
he foil is bigger then the part u whant to foil.
Take a cotton swab en work from the inside to the out side.
Image

Than u have this.
Image

take the sharp knif to cut the foil in the panel line.
Image

Then u can go on for the net panel.
Image

U can use steelwool to get difrent grades.
Image

Be sure u use fine steelwool this is 000.
Image

Image

U can use eather side of the foil and dondt forget to turn the foil 90°
(if u look close to the foil u can see some markings on it)

So when u have ried it u can get good results.
Image

the first model i have foild whas a old F-4 kit
So tryfirst on a old kit
Good luck to u all.

Great little tutorial. Do you use the wire wool to get the different coloured panels as seen in the final picture?
Cheers,

Been waiting for this, thanks man :

Few questions:
When you put on the second piece, you also take a piece that is to big put it a little bit over the first piece.
Then you cut it in the panelline.
Don't you then have the problem that you can see the cut? I mean, can't you see a cuttingline then?

Do you put the decals directly on the foil or do you first put on a clear coat?

Thanks again :th:

Hello
Yes the foil is Always bigger than the pannel u are going to do.
This s for protection if u are going to use the steelwool.

And yes then u cut in the line and the lines are good visible.
I have clearcoat the models with sol plus before the decals ae going in to place.

Cheers,
Iff u put the foil inbleach u ge a white shine.
bleach with lead a darker grey.
bleach and copper u get copper colour.
Bleach with copper and lead Multi colour.

If u do this do it outside and whatch the foil.
If its to long in the bleach u dondt have foil anymore.
The bleach disolve the foil.
