1/48 Tamiya He-219A7 Uhu

Post by wally »

Hello

This my second entry to the Night Fighter SIG. This time I choose Heinkel He-219 Uhu from Tamiya in 1/48 scale.
I don't think I finished this build on time before the deadline but I don't care I want to start this build and carry on.
For this build I will used a lot of after market goodies such as resin cockpit interior, PE parrt also for the cockpit and Eduard mask for the canopy.
for start pictures for the box and sprue's

Nice entry wally , I also have this and was one of my first options to enter the SiG , ...seems a really nice kit and I will try to do some diorama with it , I do not know if I will have time to enter with it , but ...let's see , The resin cokpit os from Aires ? These plane has some very good aftermarket goodies , I only have the Eduard masks :P

Well to me it is one of the models that is Nightfighter business , Top of the technology , designed to be one and one of the Best Nightfighters from WW2 , very, very nice and I like it a lot , the camo schemes , the history of the plane ...Great Entry and very good luck with your build . To follow for sure !
Cheers ,
António

Hello Folks

As I mention in previous post yesterday I started working on this build. I've managed to installed all resin parts into the cockpit and paint sidewalls, cockpit floor and all small bits RLM66 using Tamiya XF-63 German Grey paint. Here are some pictures for this stage:

Today I pushed forward with the He-219 and I've completed painting stage for the cockpit. I pick up some small dials and gages using different paints (red, yellow, white, silver). I've painted wires and all instruments in the cockpit for radio and radar console etc. Next I dry brushed entire cockpit using first RLM07 from Tamiya XF-22 and then I used silver paint to add some worn to the cockpit. For weathering the cockpit I have plan to use some pigments to add some dust and grime to the cockpit, and then I start putting all this cockpit bits together and closing the fuselage half's but this will be done tomorrow.
Progress so far looks like this:

That's it for now stay tunned tomorrow I put next post for this build.

Thanks Guys for nice comments on my build. Today I continue working on He-219. I add some weathering to the cockpit by brushing some Tamiya pigments then I cut from metal cockpit floor that Tamiya provide for this kit the big have piece and installed them in the rear part of the cockpit after the radar console. I also add some weight in the nose. Then I join to fuselage together and clamp them using rubber bands. The rear horizontal and vertical stabilizers also were
glue together, sand them and then I installed them in to the fuselage. So far no real major problems with the kit. The gun pod system was also painted and installed to the cockpit. I have plan to add some metal gun barrels to the bottom gun pod I working right now on this. Here is progress so far:

I also order the resin wheel bays for this kit. I will wait on this before I started working on the wings itself. Before that I think I try to complete other stuff such undercarriage, engines and props. That's it for now. I also work on the another build for D-Day in the same time so progress will be little bit slowly, but stay tunned.

Cheers
