Tamiya 1/35 Panther ausf A

Post by Chmura »

Hello everyone.
This is my first group build, so I am participating mostly out of curiosity and as to receive that extra push toward getting my model done.
I have finally found some time to spend in front of computer screen, so I am uploading photos of my build.
Right now I will post only box&sprue shots:

Soon I will upload photos of my progress with this kit.
I don't intend to use any aftermarket parts, so any detailing will be done from scratch.

Cheers

It took me some time to actually start this kit (job/life) but I have done most of assembly by now. This kit is a bit special for me as it is my first time I do such a big model. It is first time when I do some scratch building and first time I will attempt to do colour modulation on a model. I also plan to do my first diorama/vignette.
This is my progress thus far:

This is my third attempt at scratchbuilding meshes over engine deck. This one is a bit of plasticard and mesh from splash guard that you cover frying pan with.

I have couple of questions also:

1. Could someone of You show me how exactly should brackets for utensils container look like? So far I couldn't find a proper picture showing this detail.
2. What actually should be there? I have seen different photos and on some there is a mesh and on others there is some weird fixture that looks similar to this from panther ausf. G.

There is still a bit of filling and assembly required, afterwards it will be time for painting. Parallel to that I will also start working on a diorama.

Cheers everyone :)
