Review Tamiya 1/72 IL-2 Shturmovik

Post by LudvigN »

Hello friends! This is one of my 9 1/72 kits from Tamiya that I received the other week. Was thinking that I could share some of them on this forum so here it goes. The kit is from 2013, so a reasonably new tool from Tamiya. I believe that its a scaled down version of their 1/48 kit, but I cant vouch for this.

The sprues comes separatly packed except for the mirrored sprue. Standard Tamiya packaging and all that, which means stapled plastic bags.

The box states 2013.

The kit provides decals for the following markings:

SU Military Ilyushin Il-2 Stormovik
1, 6th Gv OShAP, VVS

SU Military Ilyushin Il-2 Stormovik
7, 566th ShAP, VVS | Leningrad (1944)

SU Military Ilyushin Il-2 Stormovik
12, 16th VA, VVS | Berlin DR (April 1945)

Conclusion:

+ Splendid surface detail
+ Nice details for cockpit
+ Nice clear parts
+ Crisply molded

- No obvious flaws to report
Ludvig :cheers2:

Thanks for the review Ludvig !

I often look to the 1/48 scale but it is rather expensive kit , Perhaps I will do the 1/72 , need a Russian on my stash :P , and seems that the detail is very good !

Looks a great kit !
Cheers ,
António
