Pin Vice (For very small drill bits)

Post by Donkeywalloper »

Hi Chaps

Hope all's well in your worlds.
I have a couple of Pin Vices in my collection but none of them can hold the very this and smallest drills I have.
Any suggestions for Make, Model and Supplier in UK of a Pin Vice that will hold small drill bits?
I need to bore out some Italeria Barricade (1/35) Barbed Wire Posts.
Thanks for help as always,
John

Wrap some electrical tape round the end of the drill to make it big enough to fit. Should get you going for now.

Hi Chief

Hope your well?
Yup tried that, and works for a wee while, but my delicate touch  is a lot to be desired.
I hear the Tamiya vices hold quite small bits so may try them.
Thanks for feedback.
:cheers2: for now.

The tamiya pin vise is very good.

Just one thing, you may have two chucks with your pin vice, the other one is usually screwed into the other end

Like Paul said.
I've got the Tamiya one and there is a extra clampy thing inside the handle that closes all the way to 0mm.
I've used iy for drills as small as 0,3mm.

With my one it has a chuck at either end. If you unscrew them they can be changed around for different sizes. I have had it for years and cant remember the make but I am certain I have seen them at the shows etc.
