Ultra cheap in-flight stand

Post by LudvigN »

So the landing gear on my Heller 1/72 Saab Safir has deteriorated due to weak design (this aircraft requires quite a bit of nose weight). I decided to whip together a cheap in-flight stand. It too me about 6-7 minutes to braid 3 "steel-wires" and jam the tips into the empty wheel bays. The construction will take a heavier aircraft than this little bird, but I guess it could be strenghted using a number of methods, like stronger wire, 4th or 5th wire or anything like that. With a little more effort, it could look better aswell.
Its also very easy to adjust the pose of the aircraft.

I know it aint pretty, but it works and its easy to make...... and most important, its cheap

Ooh, that looks like a good method, a bit of a 'ghetto' flight stand if you don't mind me saying so :P. This would fit right in with my suburb XD.
Cheers for the tip!
