A bit of a challenge i think as the internals will be exposed but very nice if it works out

Update 1
Thanks for all the comments and support guys!

So starts the build,

First its off with the tail

Then I thinned out the plastic

and then started bending it and cutting off parts

and here is the built up cockpit

and the built up undercarriage

Back to the body, I built up the ribbing using some styrene

and here is the painted cockpit

and here it is with the wings

Big gaps

engine

I just did a little today, some internal detail
I scratch built the radio? boxes in the fuselage

Well I finnaly got a little work time, mostly filling and scribing

Masked the canopy

fuel tank as seen in the picture

Rocket pylons cut from the rockets

I got to this a little too late. I was going to suggest making sure there is a little brown spot in the seat for authenticity! Looks a fantastic job so far, keep it up!

It's gonna look fantastic. How are you planning the base/diorama? I mean it will probably be a bit tricky to get the aircraft into that kind of posing and get the flying arresting cables there aswell. Good luck!

Ok, I finished the tail and fininshed the main painting

The dark grey is a little messed up, so i'll fix that and do some post shading next update

So I built the carrier deck but the PE rails were missing

now comes the hard part

Looks cool with the decking detail added

In the real life situation, did the tail hook catch the edge of the carrier instead of the wire and rip off the tail OR did the tail section just fatigue and let go from the otherwise good landing???
Does this happen often???

By the looks of it he came in too fast and the tail couldn't take it when it hit the arrester cable. I'm not sure if it happened often
