Re: Tamiya Electric Handy Drill Review
Hi Lee, liked the review. How did you get on with the "shanked" drill bits you were getting?
I've been looking around for some myself, but can only find "diy" sized shanked bits which are too big for modelling use.
Where did you get yours from?

I was wondering the same. I'm really curious to find out what camo pattern he's gonna slap on that thing...JohnModeller wrote:WHERE IS THE BUILD VIDEO??????

I really like the drill too...seems gimmicky at 1st, then you drill through a test piece and see how much control you have and realise it's a pretty decent tool to have around.Plus you know you ain't going to melt any plastic.
Nice review.

Sorry to revisit an old topic, but was wondering if anyone uses this and more importantly if there are any collets that will fit to use much smaller diameter drill bits; 0.20, 0.25 (micro)?

I still use mine all the time. To fit the smaller drill sizes I just put tape around the bit, simples

Re: Tamiya Electric Handy Drill Review
Well I would disagree and say I find it just under powered, but maybe thats me. However as a better solution to the drill bit problem. Buy the bits used to drill circiut boards they fit perfect and can be bought cheaply.Lee wrote:arkbuilder2012 wrote:Sorry to revisit an old topic, but was wondering if anyone uses this and more importantly if there are any collets that will fit to use much smaller diameter drill bits; 0.20, 0.25 (micro)?

Think I may give this a try. Drilling 500+ holes with a twist drill is painful as well as tedious. Thanks.

I would recommend the Proxon myself for that amount of work. Others use a Dremel. Speed is variable and will make light work of that job you have. With the Proxon you can expand and buy a pen sander both of these use the same power supply.

Re: Tamiya Electric Handy Drill Review
I've got a standard Dremel without the step down so its way too fast for plastic. I'll check into the Proxon - never heard of it til now. Thanks for the tip.
