Not quite the resuts I was hoping for but all good none the less :thumb1: At least this way I don't really need to go out and get more kits, not that it'll stop me. ATM I've got enough kits in my stash for 4 of the things, and a few good options at that.
From Russia With Love: Lets see... 1/35 Bronco SU-152 (Apr. '43), Dragon/Cyber-Hobby IS-2, 1/48 Zvezda La-5FN or this kit I coincidentally picked up today from the local hobby shop
Image
I Heart Tamiya: Got the 1/72 Spitfire MkI lying around somewhere that I have plans for, it'll be a good opportunity. I think I have something else buried somewhere too.
Pacific Ocean Theatre: Umm, Hasegawa P-40 with RNZAF decals so that's very possible. Also a Hasegawa B7A2 and an RS Models Ki-61-II Kai, my favourite looking aircraft of all time so also a definite maybe. Perhaps I'll have time for two.
If it Floats: Tamiya 1/700 IJN Suzuya.
Kinda wanna see if I can track down a Kugelblitz kit for the Panzer IV build too but I think I'll be fine without.

Too much to do, and I've still got the shelf (or rather boxes) of doom to get through one of these days, life is just sooo difficult ;)

Will participate in some that is for sure, all WW2 builds, except maybe the shinny one, a French mirage zinc will be the option ,in some I will enter more than one,and the Tamiya one will be great to enter a bike or a racing car ,as i for long do not do a 1/24 scale, must try what i learned since the comeback to modelling.

Cool.

Four for me:

Shiny things: Airfix 1/48 Lightning in the stash.

Pacific: Academy 1/48 P38 Lighting.

I love Tamiya: P47 Ridgeback.

Floaty: Looking forward to this. Haven't built a ship since I was a nipper. Interested in destroyers or smaller ( the real workhorses) or possibly something with sails.

Bring on 2016.

Looking forward to From Russia with Love will be undertaking the AFV Club 1/35 Scale T34/85 which has a full interior AFV35145

Just ordered some working tracks for it as the supplied rubbers are not at all good enough for the kit and this build rock on New Years Day!

For the From Russia with Love, I was thinking a bit outside of the box. I was thinking of perhaps something from the Soviet Space Program (as it was all classified military stuff); but before I commit I thought I would see what everyone thought? Paul? Lee?

Well you can certainly have a go at the I Heart Tamiya one. SiGs and Group builds are just about what they say. SiG is special interest group. TBH I don't know what the difference is between a group build and a SiG in real terms so you're not alone! They are set of tasks to do at various times of the year where everyone decides 'Right from Jan to March build a WWI motorbyke' or something like that. You can have a go at all of them or just one, or none at all. The voting that's on this thread is what forum members have voted to do next year.

Its in the name, special group build is more specific group build so on a P-51 or particular car as opposed to a plane or car build

For Lee, you mentioned in the Dec News show that planes with floats or flying boats wouldn't be allowed for the 'If It Floats' build, can you just confirm that as when I asked earlier in the month you said they were. Also if they aren't allowed what about subs? Ta.

Ok , just so I get this totally right as I'm a newbie on here, for the example the 1st one the russian one it can be any russian model as long as it's out the box, now I've been looking to see if theres anything cheap and cheerful I can maybe get to have a go at this as I'm not working at the moment due to my health (extra modelling time though lol), totally out of my genre but could be fun as I'm not used to weathering and such like and would be fun to experiment as I get my airbrush soon.

Now as far as the rules goes it must be an out of the box build with no add ons? what if the kit comes with metal etch parts as standard?

just some clarification as I don't want to buy something to try in this and it's not allowed because of photo etch or similar.

regards

Terry

It's the 'I Heart Tamiya' one that's out of the box Terry, the others are whatever you want.

Great thats me sorted for the group build in January then just got myself a TAMIYA 35257 Soviet Tank T 55 1:35 Military Model Kit, I havent built a tank in 25 years and have never tried weathering one before so I will be totally out my comfort zone on this but it's nice to step into a genre you don't normally do. I take it when the group build starts there will be a thread created where you can post progress reports and stuff?

actually looking forwards to this

Question for the "From Russia with Love" GB.
During WWII, the Red Army used thousands of Valentines, Shermans, Studebakers, Airacobras, Hurricanes.....all received as war aid by other allied nations.
Would these subjects be eligibale for this GB, or should it be "home grown" Russian military subjects only?
Thanks guys, :cheers2:
