So my second entry into this gb and my first miniart kit, obligatory box and sprue shots with a couple of issues already obvious, flash and lots of it, also whilst the sprue map is lettered and numbered the sprues themselves have no markings as to which sprue or part numbers, helpful!

Slow and steady progress has been made on the main assembly, fenders needed some adjustments to get them to fit but overall fit is improving as the build progresses, now for some teeny little "workable" tracks, the pins and holes are so small that the pin either snaps off or the hole breaks open half the time so I've taken the executive decision after consulting with Herman to construct them magic track stylee with contacta and set the sag myself.

Been making some progress despite suffering from the dreaded manflu. The styrene tow cable was moulded straight so there was no way that would bend without duly snapping, which it did so i replaced it after a looksie about the cave with leadcore leader, a braided fishing line with a lead wire running its length internally meaning it's extremely posable.

Made some more progress, dirtied up the interior and finished the actual build phase, now on to paint where it could all go pearshaped as i try to tell the story with the paint and weathering.

Green applied and chipped, used a light green below the russian green to get a mottled tonality to the paint, kind of a barbarous version of the black basing technique. Hairspray used for the chipping medium, next up is decals and detail painting.

Had a minor disaster whilst putting the tracks on yesterday, some of the links pretty much crumbled away, probably due to thinner reacting with the plastic or glue so it will now be modelled as taken out rather than broken down. Pics to follow.

Few more little details taken care of and the winter wash removed to where i want it to be, next up is oils and more pigments, then maybe try to figure out how to make a nest and some flowers!
